This is our sixth release from our estate Faîte De Mer Farm on the far western coastal edge of the Mendocino Ridge. At 1250 ft and 3.3 miles from the ocean, this vineyard is the closest vineyard to the ocean in Mendocino County. The purity, structure and natural aligned acidity we get from this site is the best in our portfolio. Ancient oceanic soils, providing excellent drainage coupled with the maritime climate makes for a compelling expression of our coastal forest surroundings. . This naturally low yielding site produces small tight clusters with slightly thicker skins, due to cooler conditions. This 2019 bottling is a benchmark wine, one we will judge future vintages against. Longer barrel elevage elevates complexity. The result is silky elegance and savory character, our goal. Exotic plums, black cherries, fir tips and savory forest umami notes are signature on the palate and on the nose. We love the depth and purity of this seductive wine and the continual unfolding of layers. A benchmark vintage.    We have yet to send this wine out for reviews with the exception of  Purely Domestic Wine Report who came to the estate to taste with us.  Winemaker Jason Drew is calling this a career wine for him.  We will be keeping more of this in our library.  Don't miss this wine.
