At three miles from the Pacific, our estate is the most westerly vineyard in California, which means it is exposed to consistent winds and fog from the nearby ocean. The 2024 Radiolaria Chardonnay hails from two blocks on the estate. The soils here are ancient sea floor uplift, planted to two selections: Dijon 548, and a Wente selection. Our sandstone based soils contain deep sea bed rock called Radiolarian Chert, formed from deep sea plankton that dropped to the deep ocean floor over 50 million years ago. This coastal site produces a mouthwatering, mineral driven and taut Chardonnay that is lively, mouthwatering, persistent and impeccably balanced. Flint, oyster shell and quince on the nose with lemon curd and asian pear finishing with citrus and saline notes. Pair with Seared Scallops or Grilled Wild Salmon.
