' Drew - 2017 Fog-Eater Pinot Noir

2017 Fog-Eater Pinot Noir

2017 Estate Mid-Slope Pinot Noir from Drew Family Cellars

The Fog-Eater Pinot Noir is our Anderson Valley appellation blend. We combine several sites from both bench and hillside locales along with outer western rim vineyards to create a classic layered expression of Anderson Valley. The term Fog-eater is a Boontling term, used to describe those who live out on the coastal margins. The outliers in the fog. We used 100% native yeasts during fermentation and 25% whole clusters bringing additional structure and spice into the blend. Bright red pomegranate and cranberries along with crushed wildflowers and trumpet mushrooms are evident here. Savory spice and mineral undertones follow along with mouthwatering acidity for a persistent finish. Pair with Mushroom Risotto or a Seared Duck Breast.

"The 2017 Pinot Noir Fog Eater is gorgeous and also one of the finest wines I have tasted from Jason Drew. Bright, floral and beautifully lifted, it is all class. Freshly cut roses, raspberry and mint give the 2017 its distinctive, high-toned personality. The fog Eater is an especially gracious, refined Anderson Valley Pinot. I loved it."
