2015 Balo Vineyard Pinot Noir

2015 Balo Vineyard Anderson Valley Pinot Noir from Drew Family Cellars

The Balo Vineyard is a 7 acre vineyard located in the Philo end of Anderson Valley. This vineyard has a combination of Perry Gulch loam and Boontling loam soils. The property sits on an ancient river bench and, as a result, contains river rock from the days of the creek's formation. This site is also at the base of a hillside that draws cold air down helping preserve the excellent acidity. Bright plum and blue fruits, shitake mushroom with subtle pepper and savory spice. This vineyard is typically one of the more intense lots in the cellar with more acid, tannin and fruit weight with the structure to hold it firmly together.
